Editorial Policy
Last updated: June 2026
SimplePolicy publishes educational content to help California residents understand life insurance options. This page explains how that content is created, what standards it is held to, and what it is — and is not — intended to do.
1. Purpose of our content
Our guides, articles, and explainers are written to help people understand life insurance concepts before they speak with a licensed professional. The goal is to reduce confusion, not to replace advice.
SimplePolicy content is not insurance advice. It does not constitute a recommendation to purchase any specific policy, and it does not account for your individual health, financial, or legal situation. All policy recommendations and applications are handled by licensed insurance agents, not by SimplePolicy.
2. What we cover — and what we don't
We focus on life insurance topics relevant to California residents, with particular emphasis on final expense, term life, and mortgage protection coverage. We do not publish content about health insurance.
We do not publish:
- Guaranteed approval or eligibility claims
- Specific rate quotes or guaranteed pricing
- Carrier-specific performance or financial ratings
- Tax, legal, or investment advice
- Medical or health-condition diagnoses
When cost factors or eligibility criteria are discussed, they are presented as general education with appropriate disclosure that individual results vary.
3. Accuracy and review
Content is reviewed for accuracy against current California Department of Insurance guidelines, carrier documentation, and established industry standards. We update pages when regulations change, when coverage types evolve, or when we identify an error.
If you believe something on this site is inaccurate or outdated, please contact us and we will review it promptly.
4. Independence
SimplePolicy is a matching service that earns revenue when consumers are connected with licensed agents. This relationship does not influence the educational content we publish. We do not accept payment to feature specific carriers, products, or agents in our content.
Our content is not sponsored, co-authored, or reviewed by insurance carriers or their representatives.
5. No author attribution
SimplePolicy content is created by our editorial team and is not attributed to individual authors. This reflects our approach: the accuracy and usefulness of the content matters more than individual bylines.
6. Questions about this policy
